About Me

I am Associate Professor of Linguistics at UT Arlington (since 2009). Finding and analyzing linguistic patterns has always been a passion of mine. I studied Linguistics as an undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz, renowned for its undergraduate and graduate program, and earned my PhD from MIT in 2005. At UT Arlington, I teach a variety of courses in theoretical linguistics, including: Syntax (all levels), morphology, and various seminars pertaining to the interfaces. I have supervised 5 PhD students and am currently supervising 3. My research interests are rather varied within the field of syntax, but involve topics in clause structure and word order, argument structure, extraction dependencies, and -- more recently -- agreement (in languages that don't have typical agreement for phi-features).
